Der Rubellit (auch Rubellith) ist die rötliche Edelstein-Varietät der Turmalin-Gruppe. Die Rubellit-Farbskala reicht von intensivem Rosa bis zu Rubinrot, häufig mit einer Nuance Pink oder Purpur. Intensivfarbige Rubellite weisen meist kleinere Einschlüsse auf, saubere (augenreine) Exemplare sind ziemlich selten. Als farbgebende Substanz fungiert Mangan als Spurenelement im Kristallgitter. Rubellit in Edelsteinqualität wird in Brasilien, Madagaskar, Nigeria, Pakistan und Sri Lanka gefunden.
